The handkerchief “Russian Alphabet" from designer Nina Ruchkina is an encrypted message of the ancestors, which appeared on a thin cloth. The motifs of Russian architecture are framed by Letters, lavishly decorated with openwork ornaments. The fine art of carved platbands in Russia had its own sacred meaning. So our artists turned to the masterpieces of royal carving to enclose intricate Letters in it. The intricate first letters of the text have always been an important part of the art of decorating books. Thus, any text acquired a fabulous and solemn look. The letter is the beginning of recorded history, the boundary point at which everyday life is interrupted and another world arises – the one the text tells about.
